Design Your Dream IUJ T-shirt !


Have you ever felt like wearing a really 'COOL' IUJ shirt ?

Have you ever thought of having it customized just they way 'U' would want ?




Well here's your chance... Go ahead and design an IUJ T-shirt of your dreams and win prizes for it too !! and before you start designing please read the instructions below.

T-shirts content shall contain:

1. IUJ or International University of Japan: You can choose the IUJ font by yourself, but we will change the font to Original IUJ font in the main design.

2. Can contain: "Where the World Gathers"

3. Designs for example any like Sakura flowers, Mt. Fuji, World Globe, Hakkaisanetc. However kindly remember we can only use maximum 2 ink colors on the shirt.

4(Optional). If you wish you could put any other one liner sentence. But whether we can put in final design or not, will only be decided by Design organizing community. However please make it very general, nice and simple.

General Rules of the Competition are as follows:

1. Should NOT have a date (i.e. 2009).
2. It should not be either GSIR or GSIM oriented exclusively.
3. Ink color: Maximum one or two colors.
4. Shirt color: The T-shirts can be any color. Remember Shirt color is the base color and Ink color will be design color over the T-shirt.


Please send the T-shirt design by 17th May, 2009 to become a participant of this competition. You can send your designs by replying to this email, or putting the designs in the GSO Mail box in SD2. Please do not forget to mention your name and Students ID.


RESULTS:

We seek to have your VOTE on IUJ Open 23rd May at GSO stall for our selection purpose for best IUJ T-Shirt Design, however the final Veto Power for printing will be held with concerned Design organizing community chaired by Gretchen. GSO will be facilitating this competition and will not participate in making results. T-shirt design will be shown on GSO drinks stall and you are requested to vote for the best design which you want and which can become the IUJ T-SHIRT DESIGN OF THE YEARPRIZES: Best 2 T-shirt Designs winners will receive their designed T-shirts, recognition from everyone in IUJ and most importantly leave a legacy behind that will stay forever(if your design is THE ONE)!.

IUJ OLYMPICS 2009 !!

Ladies...and Gentleman... Boys and Girls... The biggest sporting event in IUJ is here and it is happening this May 27th -31st 2009 ! (from 18:00 on weekdays and Saturday and from 09:00-16:00 on Sunday). Awarding ceremony will be held on the 31st May 2009.

Please fill out the application forms(sent to your mailbox or you could also get a copy from \\Iuj-home\public\GSO-Docs) to register your team and before you do that please read the instructions below.

General regulations

This year the following games will be held :
Badminton, Basketball, Dodge ball, Ping pong, Pool, Relay, Soccer, Tennis, Tug of War, Volleyball

The IUJ Olympics is open for participation to all IUJ Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, and their Spouse(s).

Participants will have to organize themselves in teams.

No substitution to the team members is allowed during the tournament.

Each team should nominate a captain that will be a point of contact for Olympics coordinator.

Each team should settle on a name. If there are teams who do not choose a name or a captain until the given deadline, the captain will be chosen by the Olympics coordinator and the name will be based on a sequence number.

For each tournament there will be only one winner, the team which comes first and the cummulative points from all the games will be used to rank the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams for the overall Olympics.

The conditions for forming a team are:
Ø Each team should consist of 12 members
Ø Each team must have at least 2 females among its members
Ø It is not allowed to have more than 3 members of same nationality
Ø Each member of the team must participate in at least 2 tournaments
Ø All teams must participate in all tournaments of the Olympics in IUJ

Monthly Kitchen Cleaning - April 2009

The monthly kitchen cleaning exercise will be conducted on coming Wednesday - April.15, 2009 as from 1:00 p.m. onwards. We suggest you to move in advance all your belongings including your electrical RICE COOKER and toaster from your kitchen shelf to your room temporarily to facilitate the cleaning. Otherwise anything left behind in the shelves shall be discarded.

Ping Pong Tournament Results!

After 7 hours of intense Ping Pong action the new Ping Pong champions of IUJ were crowned last nite. Congratulations to all winners and thank you to all the participants for making this event an enjoyable and memorable one.

Our Special thanks to the Ping Pong club members for their outstanding efforts in organizing this event.

Singles: Abhishek (Champion) and Virak (Runner-up)
Doubles: Sithen/Das (Champion) and Suswadi/Rahadi (Runner-up)

IUJ SKI DAY 2009 -FINAL INFORMATION AND APPLICATION FORM

Dear all students, faculty, and staff,

Please find the FINAL INFORMATION and APPLICATION FORM for the IUJ SKI DAY 2009 in the file enclosed.

Kindly fill in the form and bring it with the fees on below dates to the CNP/Snack Lounge.

Time : Mon 26/1/09 (12.10 - 12.50 and 19.30 - 20.30)
Wed 28/1/09 (12.10 - 12.50 and 19.30 - 20.30)

Bus timetable will be announced separately.

Also, there is a GOOD NEWS!
Hakkai-sanroku is renewing its equipments this year. This means that we can rent a much more advance ski gears (curve ski sets which can be used easier for beginners in order to learn how to ski) with a little bit compensation on the rental fees.

We are looking forward to having your participation on this event.

Announcement of IUJ Ski Day

Here, we announce outline information about IUJ ski day 2009. Please just check following items. We apologize that the fees and charges have possibilities to be changed somewhat because this info is not entirely fixed.

After fixing all issues, we will distribute application form ASAP.

1. Date: Feb 8th, Sunday

2. Place: Hakkai-sanroku ski area (Within 10 minutes by car from IUJ. The shuttle bus will be available)

3. Fees, charges:
Application fee: 1,400 yen, including lift ticket and lunch
Ski equipment rental fee: \1,800
Snowboard equipment rental fee: \2,000
Wear rental fee: \1,200

Unfortunately, GSO's equipment will NOT be available on that event. This is due to the limited stock and to treat all students having no ski equipment fairly.

Some lectures how to ski and snowboard for beginners will be held on that day.

We expect many students, faculty, staff, alumni, your family and friend will join this event. Please enjoy this snow season!

Invitation for Naked Men Festival

We would like to announce the naked men festival on March 3rd, Tuesday. This event is famous as one of the three biggest strange festival in Japan.

In this festival, males push together and jump into the pond, praying everyone's health, good fortune and rich harvest.

The basic information is as follows,
Place: Urasa Bishamon-do (near Urasa station)
Time: Leave IUJ by bus at 7:30PM, March 3rd

Unfortunately, only male can attend this festival because of some traditional reasons. Therefore, ladies and those who want to see, please come to see this strange festival (no need to fill in application form).

To gentlemen paticipants:
If you want to attend, please fill in the sign up sheets on GSO-EC bulletin boards on either SPSC or C102 class room until 5PM on Jan 30th. And please clarify your name, your ID, clothe size (S,M,L,LL) and shoes size (cm) because You must wear traditional costume.

After collecting your application, we will inform details later.

Let's take care of the gym

We kindly advise to keep the gym in a clean and safe condition after use.

Please clean the first floor after use (basket, volley ball, badminton, etc.) to avoid other people from slipping due the floor is not clean.

Please also return all balls to the storage room and do not private belongings in the storage (It will be discarded after 1 week).

Please change to indoor shoes before entering the gym. It is very important to maintain the gym to be clean and not slippery.
